Every baby deserves to be honoured, remembered and loved.
At Angel Gowns Australia Inc., we are dedicated to supporting families experiencing the heartbreaking loss of a baby or child by providing beautifully handcrafted Angel Gown garments, lovingly created from donated wedding dresses and supplied free of charge throughout Australia.
Founded on 27 March 2014 by Fiona Kirk, Angel Gowns Australia was inspired by a similar organisation in the United States. What began as a simple act of kindness quickly grew into Australia’s first registered Angel Gown charity, officially becoming a registered charity in June 2014.
From a small group of passionate volunteers, Angel Gowns Australia has grown into a nationwide charity supporting more than 200 hospitals and funeral homes across Australia. Since our beginning, thousands of Angel Gown garments have been lovingly handcrafted and donated to families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
Each Angel Gown begins with an incredible act of generosity.
Wedding dresses donated by brides from across Australia are carefully transformed into tiny garments designed specifically for babies born sleeping or those who pass away shortly after birth. Every gown is handcrafted by our dedicated volunteers with compassion, dignity and extraordinary attention to detail.
These garments become a treasured part of a family’s final memories, providing a beautiful way to honour their baby with love and respect.
Our very first Angel Gown was created for Isabelle Rose, who sadly lost her life to infantile leukaemia at just ten months of age. Her story continues to inspire our volunteers and reminds us why every garment matters.
To lovingly transform donated wedding dresses into beautiful Angel Gown garments, providing comfort, dignity and lasting memories for families experiencing the unimaginable loss of a baby or child.
We envision a future where every hospital and funeral home throughout Australia has access to Angel Gown garments, ensuring every family can honour their baby with love, compassion and dignity.
We strive to ensure that every family has the opportunity to create one final precious memory as they gently dress their baby before saying goodbye.
Everything we do is guided by kindness, empathy and the support of communities coming together to care for one another.
The healing ability of giving and sharing.
By speaking about the importance of “Breaking the Silence” and that it is “ok” to talk about when your baby or child has passed away.
For the knowledge of our organisation and services, we provide growth in the future and work with other organisations around Australia.
To ensure families know they are not alone and that their baby or child is loved and cared for by many people throughout Australia and the world.
I have been a very proud and passionate volunteer/ seamstress for this wonderful organisation since 2014. As an angel Mum of 2 I feel I can give families who need it most something not offered years ago.
Nothing can ease the pain but to know their precious angels are dressed in our beautiful gowns fills my heart with love.
Volunteering is the sense of giving expecting nothing in return.
Sewing with this organisation has enabled me to meet many other ladies through retreats/ get togethers and coffe chats. I know some will remain life long friends.
The team of volunteers within all aspects of Angel Gowns Australia are an amazing group who provide invaluable support for families in their time of need.
May our angels fly high.
Supporting families through the donation of beautiful angel gowns, lovingly created to honour and remember precious babies.
